Lake Keowee is a 29-mile long, beautiful, deep water lake created by Duke Power in the 1970s to provide power to the Carolinas. The water level is kept within a specific range by drawing water from Lake Jocassee, located just north of Lake Keowee and that gives lakefront homes confidence their docks will always provide access to the lake.
The pristine, blue waters of Lake Keowee provide year-round enjoyment with 24 islands, countless coves and over 380 miles of shoreline. There are two restaurants on the lake and several locations with fuel for boats.
Several Wynward Pointe residents have formed the Lake Patrol, a volunteer service providing aid to anyone needing help on the lake.
The volunteers stock extra life jackets, a fire extinguisher, extra ropes for towing, jumper cables, extra gas and flashlights to be prepared for any emergency their neighbors might experience.
A list of the volunteers and their phone numbers is included in the Owners Login section of the website.
